So, I don't know about you guys, but I am pretty $^*#ing stoked for this game. There hasn't been a lot of information released yet about it, but here is what we know:

Quote:
The Last of Us is an upcoming third-person survival horror action-adventure video game developed by Naughty Dog for the PlayStation 3.

Let's stop right there. Naughty Dog is amazing. They have put out the Uncharted games (which I've yet to play outside demos, but will do so eventually) and are a major player in visual stylized games and charismatic characters.

Quote:
The roles of both main characters in the game, Ellie and Joel, are played by Ashley Johnson and Troy Baker, respectively. Joel is a "ruthless" survivor and Ellie is a 14 year-old girl who is wise beyond her years, but has no memory of the world pre-apocalypse.

All of that sounds awesome to me!

Quote:
While the fungus epidemic is the main backdrop of the game, The Last of Us is not a "zombie game", but "a love story about a father-daughter-like relationship".... Joel is a survivor and anti-hero, and Ellie is a 14 year-old girl with no experience of the world pre-apocalypse.

I am sold. How about you?

looks pretty cool. Anything post-apocalyptic tends to catch my attention

^I am the same way, and if you throw in the fact that it is 3rd person and survival horror/action-adventure, I am so there. I love exploring and the setting of this game looks like it is going to give us a lot to see and explore. I can't wait for December to roll around so I can get my hands on this gem (unless of course, the release date gets pushed back, which wouldn't surprise me).

I'm really looking forward to it. I was actually looking forward to I Am Alive as well but it's still not on the PSN marketplace. Damn Ubisoft and their Microsoft exclusive releases.

Hey shouldn't this be in the movie section of the forum?

Ehhh it looks ok. Kinda interesting :) wish they would stop casting what sounds like women in their 30's to voice children, though.

@Jader: It is a game, so why would it be in the Movie section?

@ghostboy: I agree but it comes down to having an adult that can act vs. a child that sounds authentic but can't act. It is a toss-up to me, but I don't think like a big company, sooo... : )

I'll take the good acting over a poor child actor anyday, but they could have just cast an adult with a higher voice? Idk mang, I'm 23 and I still sound like a 9 year old, so there must be others too, right? XD The character gives off an Ellen Page vibe so maybe it was intentional? I think that would make it more forgiveable. That's just what I'll have to tell myself, anyways hehehe

^ : o I was thinking the same thing! I figured they saw an Ellen Page flick (I believe in my heart of hearts it was Hard Candy) and were like "Yes. We must make a game around her. MAKE IT HAPPEN!" And then this game became real.
